Specifically, The Reader:
- Does not collect browsing history or page content
- Does not track which websites you visit
- Does not use analytics, telemetry, or tracking scripts
- Does not transmit any data to external servers
- Does not use cookies or third-party services for tracking
- Does not collect any personally identifiable information
Data Stored Locally
The Reader stores your display preferences (theme, font, font size, and line spacing) using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync API. This data:
- Is stored locally on your device and synced across your Chrome browsers via your Google account
- Contains only your chosen settings (e.g. "dark theme", "serif font", "18px")
- Is never transmitted to us or any third party
- Can be deleted at any time by removing the extension
